President gives assurances Moldova not to face deficit of food agro-products

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon gives assurances that Moldova will not face a deficit of food products and informs that there are no reasons for increasing the prices for the essential products. The head of state made statements to this effect after a today’s meeting of the Supreme Security Council (CSS).
According to Dodon, the categories of goods banned for export by the origin countries, especially the cereals, can be compensated by other types of local goods. ‘’At this stage, with a few exceptions, there cannot be objective arguments for the increase in prices by producer,’’ the president said after the CSS meeting.
The head of state added that the government was monitoring the formation of prices for each product and would toughly intervene where speculations are made. Dodon last week discussed with the leaders of the associations of producers from the animal and vegetal sectors the country’s supply with food products. The participants in the discussion found out that the situation dealing with residents’ supply with foodstuffs was stable. At an earlier meeting with representatives of the biggest trade networks of Moldova, Igor Dodon received assurances that unjustified increases in prices would not be allowed.
