Bureau for Reintegration took actions to release ambulance drivers detained in Transnistria

Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/- The Bureau for Reintegration has notified the law enforcement authorities about the detention of two ambulance drivers living in Molovata Nouă, located in the Security Zone. They were detained on the pretext that they violated the traffic rules during the COVID-19 pandemic and sentenced to 15 days detention, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The residents of Molovata Nouă were working to "so-called ambulance services in Dubasari,” part uncontrolled by the constitutional authorities.
Immediately after receiving the information about the incident, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic notified the OSCE Mission to Chisinau, which deployed a team to document the situation there.
The chief negotiator sent a Brief to all participants in the negotiation process in 5 + 2 format on the incident and installation of illegal checkpoints in the Security Zone, and the Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission addressed in the same way the notification.
The Bureau for Reintegration insists on all means of dialogue on the unconditional release of the two persons and removing checkpoints infrastructure illegally installed by the Transnistrian side.
