France provides consignment of assistance for Moldova

Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - Ambassador of France to Moldova Pascal Le Deunff today delivered a donation of medical equipment needed for diagnosing COVID-19 to the Health Labour and Social Protection Ministry.

The consignment offered to Moldova contains 16,000 sterile spikes with filter, material necessary to be able to carry out tests of diagnosing RLP Covid-19. This given that the standard detection kits contain only reagents and are not provided with these sterile spikes, which are component part of the COVID-19 diagnosing protocol.

According to the French authorities, this donation is meant to back the assistance the European Union provided to Moldova in the fight with this terrible epidemic. The European Commission last week informed about the support measures it would provide to the Eastern Partnership countries, including Moldova, in the fight against COVID-19. To this end, EU will allocate more than 840 million euros to its neghbours from the East. For short term, the European Union will provide Moldova with 87 million euros to fight COVID-19 and the social and economic consequences triggered by the epidemic.
