Chisinau, 10 April /MOLDPRES/ - The identification of solutions to constrains and problems of cargo air carriers in conditions of increased demand for these services, as well as of restrictions of movement imposed internationally because of the pandemic were the main subjects tackled by Economics and Infrastructure Minister Sergiu Railean and representatives of a group of cargo air companies from Moldova.
At a today’s videoconference, operators demanded that the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, jointly with the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry provide them with support to get needed authorizations for making flights from China to European states, Russia and USA.
The air companies said that they might take over a part of the loads, especially with medicines and essential goods from China to the Otopeni airport (Romania) and Kiev (Ukraine), with subsequent carriage to Moldova by land.
The minister said that, given that Moldova’s Air Register had a large number of cargo airships and helicopters, which were involved in more actions of ensuring complex logistic processes, he was sure that the cargo air carriers would manage to come up with efficient solutions.
Also, Sergiu Railean encouraged the air operators invited to the video-conference to show solidarity with the entire society’s actions and identify the best logistic solutions to ensure the transportation of medical products and equipment from China to Moldova, according to the demands due to come on behalf of the Health Ministry.
Presently, six Boeing 747 Cargo airships and one Airbus 300 Cargo airship, with a capacity of carrying from 40 to 110 tons at large distances are recorded in Moldova’s Air Register. The biggest cargo carrier is the Aero Trans Cargo air company from Moldova, which has four Boeing 747 aircrafts.
