As many as 102 new COVID-19 cases, one death recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 12 April /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 439 biological samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours, of which 102 proved to be positive. Thus, there are 1,662 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect after a today’s meeting of the Single Command Centre for the management of the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 virus.
According to Dumbraveanu, in the last 24 hours, only cases of local transmission have been registered; most cases – 27 – were recorded in Chisinau, 14 in Glodeni, 12 in Falesti and 18 on the left bank of Dniester; two cases were registered in the districts of Cahul, Sangerei, Stefan Voda each. No new case of infection with COVID-19 was recorded in Soroca, where quarantine regime was established.
At the same time, the ministry’s leadership informed that a new death triggered by coronavirus had been registered today. It is about a 59-year-old man from Tiraspol. Thus, there are 31 people dead and 95 people have been treated.
Attending the meeting, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that the number of patients sick with Covid had stabilized in Moldova, due to the restrictive measures. He congratulated the believers on the today’s holiday and urged them not to leave their homes without well-grounded reasons.
State of emergency is declared all over Moldova on the period 17 March – 15 May, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
