Employees of Moldova's foreign affairs ministry donate one-day salary on purposes of fighting COVID-19

Chisinau, 13 April /MOLDPRES/ - The employees of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) and the diplomatic missions of Moldova have showed solidarity with the joint efforts of backing the country’s health system in the fight against the pandemic and voluntarily donated the salary for one working day from March.

According to the MAEIE press service, as much as de 145, 900.76 lei was transferred to an opened bank account specially opened by the Finance Ministry, meant for measures of combating COVID-19 in Moldova.

At the same time, the country’s ministry and diplomatic missions remain firmly committed to the task to repatriate the Moldovan citizens from abroad and provide emergency consular assistance. It is worth mentioning that more than 8,000 citizens from 22 countries have been repatriated to Moldova so far.
