Moldovan Single Command Centre of Emergency state holds meeting

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a meeting of the Single Command Centre of the emergency state. The public authorities and institutions involved in the management of the epidemiological situation informed about the measures undertaken to manage the epidemiological situation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Interior Minister Pavel Voicu informed that Interior Ministry (MAI) employees were involved in actions of monitoring the observance of the regime of self-isolation of over 14,700 contacts and about 39,500 people under supervision.
The Border Police registered the entrance of 1,455 people in Moldova.
The police, along with carabineers and National Army servicemen, patrol public place, in order to ensure the observance of the social distancing requirements and reduce the dangers of the infection’s spread.
Presently, quarantine regime is maintained in seven settlements: Soroca city, Stefan Voda town, Talmaza village, Stefan Voda district, Glodeni town, Branzeni village, Edinet district, settlements Etulia and Cismichioi from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia.
The prime minister thanked the mayors of the settlements which had got out of the quarantine regime for cooperation and involvement.
Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu informed about the investigation of samples collected from 695 people, with 157 infection cases confirmed. One case is of import from Russia.
The settlements with most confirmed cases are Chisinau – 84 cases, Orhei – 8, Straseni – 7, Causeni, Drochia and Ialoveni – 5 each. Eleven cases are recorded on the left bank of Dniester.
As many as 17,228 people have been tested since the beginning of the epidemic and 3,638 infection cases were confirmed.
A number of 975 patients have been treated of COVID-19 and 103 people infected with the new-type coronavirus died.
