Romanian government today to decide on quantum of assistance due to be provided to Moldova

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - The government of Romania today evening will decide on the assistance due to be provided to Moldova. Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu made statements to this effect at the end of a joint news conference with the Moldovan diplomacy head, Oleg Tulea.
The Bucharest official reconfirmed Romania’s firm commitment for backing an irreversible European integration of Moldova. He specified that the Moldovan authorities must continue the essential reforms for country’s democratic development and advancement on its European way.
”I returned to Chisinau in a context marked by the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to once again convey a firm message for all Moldova’s citizens. Romania is now also by your side. We are in solidarity with the people of Moldova before this difficult ordeal. This evening, the government of Romania will decide on the quantum of the assistance due to be provided to Moldova. It is about 500,000 masks, 50,000 overalls and medication,’’ Aurescu said.
Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea thanked the Romanian side for the support provided in the fight against COVID-19, including the organization of corridors of road transport in Romania, which allowed the repatriation of thousands of Moldovan citizens. He stressed the importance of Romania’s support for Moldova’s European integration, as well as of the joint energy projects, such as the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline and the interconnection of the electricity lines Isaccea-Vulcanesti-Chisinau.
Today, a mission made up of 51 people, of whom 41 physicians and medical assistants from Romania, came to Moldova for 15 days, to provide assistance to physicians of the Moldovan health system in the fight against the new coronavirus. The mission was accompanied by an official delegation, led by Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu.
