As many as 126 new COVID-19 cases registered in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 878 biological samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours, of which 126 ones proved to be positive. Thus, there are 3,897 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect after a today’s meeting of the Single Command Centre for the management of the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 virus.
According to Dumbraveanu, all cases are with local transmission. Most infection cases were recorded in Chisinau – 49, left bank of Dniester 17, Sangerei – 12, Cahul -8, Balti – 6, Straseni – 5, Dubasari – 4, Glodeni – 3, Ceadar-Lunga – 3, Hancesti – 3, Ocnita – 3, Calarasi, Causeni, Comrat, Donduseni, Drochia, Floresti, Falesti, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Rascani, Stefan Voda, Orhei, Ungheni – on case each. ‘’There are two hotbeds, one at the Emergency Medicine Institute and another one at the Sangerei hospital. The practice of massive testing in hotbeds will continue,’’ Dumbraveanu noted.
Data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry shows that 1,182 people infected with coronavirus have been treated and 116 people died so far.
State of emergency is declared all over Moldova on the period 17 March – 15 May 2020, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
