Moldova's Customs Service collects over 6.6 billion lei to budget since early 2020

Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Customs Service has collected more than 6.6 billion lei in the first four months of 2020, up by 78 million lei against the same period of the year before. In last April, 1 billion 285 million lei was collected to the state budget.      

According to the Customs Service, 33.045 customs declarations were processed and 127 infringements of the customs legislation were found out in April 2020.  

„Most infringements refer to the exceeding of the term of stay of touring cars with foreign registration numbers in Moldova, infringement of the terms of transit or of submitting the customs declaration, avoiding the declaration or the unauthentic declaration of consumer goods. Also on the concerned period, 38 official reports on contravention were compiled and fines worth 150,000 lei were imposed,’’ the institution said.  

At the same time, in last April, the flow of transport means decreased considerably, standing at 44,237 crossings. The most transited customs checkpoints were Leuseni and Tudora, with 14,410 and respectively, 7,321 crossings.  

The Customs Service manages the Single Call Centre (+373 22 788 888),  where information can be get 24 hours about the rules of crossing the state border with diverse assets or where denunciations can be registered on eventual abuses admitted by the institution’s employees.  

„To prevent the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, we further urge the participants in the cross-border traffic to postpone travels and observe the instructions provided by the competent authorities,’’ the Moldovan Customs Service added.
