Germany provided humanitarian aid to Moldova to fight COVID-19

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/- Germany today offered a batch of humanitarian aid worth 50 thousand euros for doctors in Moldova. It includes protective suits that were produced by local economic agents.

Attending the event were Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu and German Ambassador to Chisinau Angela Ganniger.

The German official said that the equipment offered today is made in Moldova, so we tried to support economic agents in the light industry. "Only together will we be able to cope with this crisis caused by COVID-19. Germany will continue to cooperate closely with Moldova, both bilaterally and within the Eastern Partnership, "she said.

Dumbrăveanu thanked for the support offered by the German side and said that it is a welcome gesture. "We are grateful for the support provided by Germany, support that comes in difficult times for us. Germany is a strategic partner for our country and today, as always, it has shown solidarity ", said Dumbrăveanu.

So far, 4,363 cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered in Moldova, of which 541 in the Transnistrian region.
