Moldovan president meets Chisinau mayor

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a meeting with the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, the presidential press service has reported.
The officials discussed a wide range of issues on ensuring a good work of the capital in the present crisis conditions.
Ion Ceban informed the head of state that all hospitals from the Moldovan capital were supplied with needed protection equipment, consumables, medication and the medical units were prepared to cope with the requirements necessary in the conditions of the pandemic.
According to the mayor, in parallel with the management of the pandemic crisis, infrastructure projects are implemented as seriously as possible. In the context, the mayor thanked for the 100 million lei earmarked for roads’ repair following the rectification of the national public budget. The sides were unanimous in the opinion that this money must be used for the restoration of the Albisoara Street, pavement on the Pushkin, Banulescu-Bodoni and other streets.
The interlocutors also analyzed more solutions of improving the situation in the public transport sector, given that, in the last 5-6 weeks, the transport has moved free of charge and debts were accumulated in the concerned field.
At the same time, Igor Dodon stressed the importance of renewing the parks of buses and trolley busses from Moldova’s capital, in order to provide qualitative transport services through municipal transport enterprises, for the benefit and comfort of the Chisinau residents.
In the end of the meeting, the head of state gave assurances that the current leadership was willing to provide the city hall with every support, in order to solve the present problems and achieve the goals set.
