Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - President of the Constitutional Court (CCM) Domnica Manole today gave a news briefing. At the event, she said that the ‘’tense’’ situation created at CCM was deliberate and hit the functioning of the rule of law state.
Domnica Manole said that more information on the Constitutional Court had appeared in public space, which creates a ‘’tense situation.’’ She reminded about the information appeared in media on possible actions of stakeout against constitutional judges, as well as on an addressing by the head of the parliament’s juridical commission for rules and immunities, Vasile Bolea, to the Supreme Council of Magistracy (CSM) with a demand to dismiss three constitutional judges. The CCM president considers that these actions have been created deliberately.
Domnica Manole stressed that ‘’the activity of the CCM judges will be carried out in strict accordance with Moldova’s Constitution.”
On 7 May, the plenum of Moldova’s Constitutional Court will give its opinion on the appeal of the Law No 57 from 23 April 2020 concerning the agreement between the governments of Moldova and Russia on a loan worth 200 million euros.
