Slovakia donates 50,000 euros to hospitals from Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 7 May /MOLDPRES/ - Ambassador of Slovakia to Moldova Dušan Dacho and the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, today signed an agreement on the providing of a financial contribution from funds of the Slovakian Agency for International Development Cooperation (Slovak Aid). This support, as instrument of development for emergency situations, was approved by the Slovakian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
During the event, the ambassador of Slovakia to Moldova handed to the Chisinau mayor a symbolical cheque worth 50,000 euros. The donation will be used for the purchasing of protection equipment and specialized medical equipment for combating the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Slovakian humanitarian contribution will be directed to five municipal hospitals: Holy Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital No 3; Municipal Clinical Hospital No 1; Valentin Ignatenco Municipal Clinical Hospital for Children; Saint Archangel Michael Municipal Clinical Hospital and the Municipal Clinical Hospital No 4.
To fight against the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in Moldova, the Slovakian Agency for International Development Cooperation approved three small grants worth 30,000 euros in all for hospitals and specialized medical institutions from various regions of the country, with other projects under preparation due to be approved.
