The participants in the meeting considered effects of the restrictions imposed, in order to manage the epidemiological situation and the problems faced by the business people. Representatives of the banking and micro-financing sector, telecommunications, automotive industry, textiles and tourism took part in the discussion. The participants noted the decrease in the work’s intensity, which entailed such problems as the full honouring of the commitments and the deficit of liquidities.
Ion Chicu referred to the need to maintain a cautious balance in resuming the activities, in order to prevent the spread of the epidemic. The government considers separate packages of measures for backing various economic activities, depending on the priority problems and in this respect, it intensely communicates with the business associations, including specialized ones, as well as with the financial institutions.
The prime minister informed the business people about the sources of compensation of the budget deficit identified and about the projects discussed with European and international financial institutions, such as the World Bank, European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The EBA members described the communication with the authorities as frequent and productive and confirmed the willingness and interest in coming up with information on problems and solutions.
