Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - A open platform, which allows analyzing data on public procurements in the health sector for combating COVID-19 in Moldova, was launched in Chisinau today.

The platform was launched at a news conference, in which the leadership of the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry participated. ‘’At an initiative by civil society’s representatives, the government was open to launch the platform tender.health, which allows visualizing and interpreting information on centralized procurements, acquisitions of separate medical institutions, providers, categories of products, unitary prices, etc. Thus, due to this platform, decision-makers will ensure transparency in the use of public funds, enhancement of authorities’ social responsibility and the society’s trust in the actions of the authorities,’’ Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu said.

On the platform, the data on contracts and invoices are presented in form of tables and schedules, depending on filtering for analysis and monitoring. The analysis of data from contracts and invoices allows assessing and improving the efficiency of the planning and use of public money.

Specialists say that the platform will be quite useful for buyers, as it will help them identify the providers of the best prices and the civil society will be able to evaluate how efficiently buyers are using public money.

The platform tender.health appeared at an initiative by more NGOs and was developed by the Positive Initiative public association, in cooperation with Moldova’s Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry and the Centre for Centralized Public Procurements in Health.
