Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) further insists on the settlement of the problems as to the work of the peacekeeping mechanism, in the context when the situation remains tense in the Security Zone, as a result of the illegal setting of ‘’control posts’’ and blocking of the activity of the military observers from the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, according to JCC’s press release.
Thus, after the failure to summon a meeting of the co-heads of the Commission, with the participation of representatives of Ukraine and OSCE Mission in Moldova, scheduled at the Chisinau-based of the OSCE Mission in Moldova on 7 May, the Moldovan delegation proposed to organize a similar meeting in form of videoconference on 8 May at 14:00. The OSCE Mission in Moldova assumed the technical aspects of organizing the meeting. Subjects on the work of the peacekeeping mechanism in the context of the anti-epidemic measures enforced in the Security Zone, as well as on the epidemiological situation in the units of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces were on the agenda of the discussions. Yet, this initiative was not backed either.
Moldova’s delegation voiced regret about the non-constructive position of the Transnistrian side which, by its deeds, obviously proves its lack of wish to discuss and remedy the problems created also by it in the Security Zone, as well as to re-bring the situation in the region in strict accordance with the parameters established in the framework documents of the peacekeeping mission at Dniester.
