Another seven people die of COVID-19 in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/ - Another seven people have died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours; thus, the number of dead people reached 159.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, 4,728 cases of infection with COVID-19 have been confirmed in Moldova so far, of which 586 - on the left bank of Dniester.

The health condition of the people infected is as follows: 257 – serious condition, 21 persons are at assisted breathing, 482 – medium health condition and the other patients are in satisfactory condition.

As many as 1,150 infection cases among health system employees have been confirmed till today, of whom: 276 physicians, 415 medical assistants, 63 doctor’s assistants, one para-physician, 17 pharmacists, 378 auxiliary staff employees.

The Health Ministry said that 99 people had been discharged on 8 May and there were 1,925 treated persons.

State of emergency is declared all over Moldova on the period 17 March – 15 May 2020, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
