Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/ - The ferryboat which makes connection between the settlements Molovata – Molovata Noua and Cocieri today resumed work, after the level of the water had increased by about 0.30 metres in the reservoir of the Dubasari hydro-electric power station, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
On 8 May, a large quantity of water from the reservoir was overflown and Moldova’s Waters Agency prepares the dam for the high flood, expected on the Dniester river this week. As a result, the exploitation of the ferryboat, which carries people and vehicles on the Cocieri plateau, was no longer possible. Only a small ship, able to carry up to 20 people, was moving between the two banks of Dniester on last Saturday and Sunday.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic and the Reintegration Policies Bureau took note and made the necessary steps, in order to open the movement of local residents on the bridge of the Dubasari-based hydro-electric power station on the period when the ferryboat cannot be exploited. At the same time, decision-makers of the Bureau remained in touch with all sides involved, in order to solve the situation in a short period.
