Chisinau, 12 May /MOLDPRES/ - About 60 traders today protested nearby the closed doors of the municipal enterprise Central Market. They demanded that the Moldovan capital’s administration opens the market.
The spontaneous protest was triggered by a visit of the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, to the municipal enterprise Central Market. The mayor presented to journalists the concept on the enterprise’s modernization.
Ceban said that the Chisinau city hall was not able to take a decision on the opening of the Central Market, noting that only the Commission for Emergency Situations can take a decision to this effect.
Statistics data shows 40-50 thousand people daily come to the Chisinau Central Market. According to the measures for the prevention of the infection with COVID-19, urban agglomerations must be avoided.
