Annual leave might be divided in more parts or postponed in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - Employees might benefit from right to ask for the full or partial annual leave divided in more parts, according to needs. The parliament’s juridical commission for rules and immunities approved a draft on the amendment of the Labour Code at a meeting today.

Under the draft, the provision which sees that one of the parts of leave must have a duration of at least 14 calendar days will be excluded from legislation. At the same time, on justified grounds, with the written consent of the employee and the written agreement of employees’ representatives, the leave can be postponed. In such cases, the employee will be provided, in the current labour year, only the days demanded from the annual leave and the part left of the leave will be provided till the end of the next year.   

The legislative initiative belongs to a group of MPs of the Moldovan Democratic Party’s parliamentary faction. The draft is to be discussed by the other parliamentary commissions and afterwards considered at a parliament’s plenary meeting.
