20 schools, 450 classes in Moldova work remotely due to quarantine

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/- On 27 November 20 general education institutions and 450 classes in the country are working remotely due to quarantine. The number of pupils tested positive for COVID-19 is 489, and 13,615 were placed in self-isolation, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC) has reported.
According to the institution, 550 teachers have been confirmed positive with the new coronavirus and 583 are in isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 126 people were infected with the new virus, and another 211 are in self-isolation.
„In the technical vocational education, on November 23-27, 32 pupils were tested positive with the Sars-Cov-2 virus, 8 - teachers and 7 - non-teaching and auxiliary staff. Also, 18 groups of pupils are in self-isolation ", MECC said.
In higher education, on November 23-27, we have 48 students tested positive with Covid-19, and 230 are in self-isolation. 28 teachers were confirmed positive with the new coronavirus, there are eight in self-isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 20 people were infected, and nine are in self-isolation.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research called on school managers, teachers and students to continue to comply with all measures to protect against COVID-19 virus.
The Republic of Moldova today entered a state of emergency in public health, established throughout the country on 30 November 2020 - 15 January 2021.
