Moldova, Poland interested in extending commercial, economic cooperation

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today had a phone conversation with Polish Foreign Affairs Minister Zbigniew Rau on subjects of common interest on the bilateral agenda.

According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service, the sides highlighted the advanced level of relations between both states, as well as the importance attached to turning to good account the opportunities for a consolidated cooperation in sectors of common interest. In the context, the foreign affairs ministers reaffirmed mutual will to boost the political and diplomatic dialogue between both states, agreeing on organizing working meetings on the next period.       

Minister Aureliu Ciocoi thanked the government of Poland for the firm support of Moldova’s European integration and the generous assistance provided to the country to continue the reforms and in the fight against the pandemic, including for the financial support provided within Polish Programme on Development Assistance. The sides also exchanged opinions on the social and political situation in Moldova.

The Moldovan diplomat stressed the government’s determination to press ahead with the punctual implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement and the structural reforms for the country’s modernization.

Aureliu Ciocoi and Zbigniew Rau expressed joint interest in extending the commercial and economic cooperation, with the exchanges of goods between both states having an ascendant tendency, despite the pandemic. The officials also emphasized the need to turn to account the potential of growth of the sectoral cooperation and agreed on the importance to resume the meetings of the joint inter-governmental commission for economic cooperation.
