Moldovan cabinet approves draft of state budget law for 2021

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet members, at a today’s meeting, approved the draft law on the state budget for 2021, which is to be presented to parliament for adoption.
Under the draft approved by the government, the state budget for 2021 is approved with incomes worth 41,415,400 thousand lei and expenses amounting to 55,399,600 thousand lei, with a deficit worth13,984,200 thousand lei.
Allocations on specific purposes were approved to the budgets of budgetary authorities/institutions, according to the fields of competence. Thus, a sum of 1,532,059.8 thousand lei is provided for the road fund. ‘’The annual deductions from the overall volume of excise duties on oils products, excepting the liquefied gas, will not exceed 54.5 per cent; for the programme on repair of national local, village public roads and streets – amounting to 900,000 thousand lei,’’ the draft reads.
The distribution of means in the programme will be made based on the government decision: for carrying out the process of privatization of state public assets, including based on individual projects – amounting to 3,000 thousand lei; for the energy efficiency fund – worth 30,000 thousand lei; for the regional development national fund – worth 220,000 thousand lei; for the national fund of development of agriculture and rural environment – worth 1,100,000 thousand lei.
The distribution of these allocations will be made in the way established by the government: for the vine and wine fund – amounting to 44,102 thousand lei, of which 26,102 thousand lei of the national fund of development of agriculture and rural environment; for the national ecological fund – worth 500,000 thousand lei; for strengthening the education quality – amounting to 87,376.3 thousand lei, from the loan provided by the World Bank within the Education Reform in Moldova project; for backing the activity of theatres, circus and concert organizations - worth 175,748.7 thousand lei, etc.
As much as 146,400 thousand lei is envisaged for the population support fund, of which 130,400 thousand lei - for financing the minimal package of social services by the second-level local public administration authorities; for financing political parties – worth de 34,150.5 thousand lei; for financing the capital investments per central public authorities – amounting to 1,648,054.3 thousand lei; in the budget of Social Investments Fund, for works of renovation/ construction of sanitary units in the primary, education institutions, gymnasiums, lyceums – worth 5,000 thousand lei and for works of restoration of primary education establishments, gymnasiums and lyceums subordinated to the local public authorities from the loan provided by the World Bank within the Education Reform in Moldova project – worth 71,874 thousand lei, etc.
In the context, Prime Minister Ion Chicu stressed the importance of preserving the investments in infrastructure, ‘’which are important and are recommended also by experts of the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, other development partners.’’
