Moldovan cabinet approves amendments to framework regulation on organisation, work of social service

Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved amendments to a framework regulation on the organisation and work of the Community House social service and minimum quality standards, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The regulation's goal is to create and provide as good as possible conditions for persons with special needs from social centres. Thus, the minimum quality standards were extended, new provisions were included, which regulate the relations between beneficiary and the staff of the concerned centres, as well as the requirements to the institutions of the Community House type.
Acting Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister Mircea Buga said the concerned amendments were aimed at ensuring the enforcement of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ratified under the law No 166 from 9 July 2010.
Twelve specialised social services of the Community House type work in Moldova. The services are placed in ten districts and serve 81 people with special needs.
