Chisinau, 29 December /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister-designate Ion Sturza and representatives of the Trade Union of Education and Science (FSES) today discussed the situation of the Moldovan educational system and ways to settle current problems in this sector.
“Our previous experience showed us that the national social dialogue between the government, patronages and trade unions could help improve collaboration ties between the society and state institutions. A lot of resources are being invested in Moldova’s education system; however, we must find correct methods to implement them. We must bring best practices from foreign countries into our schools and offer children an appropriate education,” Sturza said.
FSES representatives noted that their meeting with the prime minister-designate was productive.
“We are glad to be offered the opportunity to meet you and examine the situation of the Moldovan education sector. FSES representatives are concerned about the current social-economic in Moldova. The situation is severe, salaries are very small, teachers leave the country, and therefore, we are coping with a shortage of teaching staff. We would like to see some ways to get out of this profound crisis, and subsequently, take joint efforts to implement the necessary steps in this respect,” FSES head Dumitru Ivanov said.
