Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip required that a moratorium on the inspections carried out by the Fiscal Service, Customs Service and Economic Police, be introduced for a period of three months. He also asked the finance minister to dismiss the leaders and employees of these institutions, against whom criminal cases are filed.
“There is huge abuse committed during the investigations, and the economic agent is sometimes exposed to three or four checks per week. We have a rather worrying image in front of us. Suspicions related to the Fiscal Service, Economic Police and Customs Service and also to their leaders, must be clarified and the abuse must be stopped. We have been informed that there was enormous bribery,” Filip said today.
“Only five per cent of the cases filed by the economic police get to be heard in court, which means that they are intentionally filed or both sides reach an understanding before the investigation starts. Based on that, I require law enforcement bodies to take action,” the prime minister said.
A telephone number will also be launched, so that people could signal abuses made during checks.
