Actions dedicated to Moldovan Parliament's Day to be organized for the first time ever

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/ - The legislative body will organize, for the first time ever, actions dedicated to the Moldovan Parliament’s Day. The events occasioned by the 26th anniversary will take place on 20-23 May, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The actions will start on 20 May, within the participation in the European Museum Night. Two vintage cars from the parliament’s garage will be displayed for public in the yard of the National History Museum for the first time ever. Subsequently, they will be carried to the square outside the parliament building.
On 22 May, three workshops will be organized in partnership with the Legal Resources Centre of Moldova, Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality and the Centre of Continuous Training in the Electoral Sector. The registration for participants was announced in early May and will end today at 17:00. So far, about 80 young people have registered to take part in:
-discussing a draft law;
-discussion on the equality of chances;
-simulation of the voting exercise.
Afterwards, the young people will participate in a Question & Answer session with Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu in the plenary session hall.
On 23 May, when the Parliament Day is marked, an exhibition will be launched, on the occasion of the inauguration of the institution’s museum. Among the exhibits presently found in the museum, there are historic documents, protocol photos and presents, MPs have received during years. On the same day, the most gifted pupils of the Ciprian Porumbescu republican musical lyceum will receive scholarships of the parliament speaker.
At the same time, the parliament territorial information offices will carry out the open-door day at the headquarters from Edinet, Orhei, Leova, Comrat.
On 23 May 1991, in line with the Decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic (RSSM) of the 12th legislative period, the former union republic RSSM is renamed Republic of Moldova and the Supreme Soviet became the first parliament of Moldova.
