Premiers of Moldova, Belarus set new cooperation prospects

Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip met his counterpart of Belarus Andrey Kobeacov in Minsk on 6 June. The officials identified the main cooperation goals for next period, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Filip noted that the partnership between the two states is based on transparency and predictability. This facilitates drawing new perspectives of collaboration on mutual interest sectors. “The current visit has given us the opportunity to exchange views on the achievement of common goals. At the same time, through an open and constructive dialogue with the country’s leadership, we have managed to identify new growth points and agreed to boost the existing relations across the Moldovan-Belarusian cooperation framework” he said.
The premier also said that a special attention was paid to the economic relations, emphasizing the existing potential and actions for turning to good account it. In the context, he stressed the importance of the work of the Moldovan-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, which convened yesterday in a meeting and represents a qualitative tool for monitoring the achievement of common goals. At the same time, Filip expressed the country’s interest in taking over the Belarusian experience in the agro-industrial field, as well as in continuing working towards widening the range of jointly produced agricultural technology.
For his part, Kobeacov reiterated his country’s willingness to provide support necessary for the Moldovan side and pointed out that the bilateral relations between states had a new impetus with the creation of Moldovan-Belarusian intersectoral groups. Also, the official welcomed the participation of Belarusian companies in the development of road infrastructure of Moldova and stressed the evolution of cooperation in assembling tractors, trolleys and buses of Belarus in Chisinau.
Also, several bilateral cooperation agreements have been signed in the economic, regional development, culture and science sectors.
