Moldovan deputy foreign minister participates in 36th council of foreign ministers of Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Lilian Darii today participated in the 36th meeting of the Council of Foreign Affairs Ministers of the member states of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC). The event was held under the auspices of Turkey’s chairmanship of this organization, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The participants in the meeting summed up the activities carried out during Turkey’s mandate and exchanged opinions on the organization’s medium- and long-term priorities. Also, the event’s agenda included subjects on cooperation on economic and sectoral dimension, identifying ways to reform BSEC. The participants also evoked the need of enhancing the visibility of the Organization, in the context of the 2017 year, when the 25th anniversary of BSEC’s foundation is marked.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Darii reiterated the need to deepen the regional cooperation at the Black Sea, in order to turn to account the entire institutional potential, to generate tangible projects in priority sectors: economic cooperation, interaction in the transport and infrastructure field, developing tourism and cultural exchanges. In the context, the Moldovan official stressed the need of implementing the Regional Trade Facilitation Strategy for the BSEC Region. Also, Lilian Darii expressed full support for continuing the process of BSEC’s reformation and thanked the Turkish chairmanship for efforts made to boost the cooperation with other international and regional structures.
