Mayor of Moldovan town found dead

Chisinau, 30 July /MOLDPRES/ – The mayor of Singera town, Mihai Lari, was found dead early on 30 July in his own home. According to the police, he would have committed suicide.
The information was confirmed for the agency by the head of the Chisinau police press service, Adrian Jovmir. "Next to a man was found a gun, legally held. The basic version is that the mayor would have committed suicide. The police is going to determine all the circumstances of the case," said Jovmir.
Mihai Lari was 55 years old. During 1999-2009, he worked as head of the Directorate for Implementation and Supervision of Projects within the General Direction of Public Transport and Communications of the Chisinau Municipal Council. Subsequently, he acted as interim mayor of Singera town in 2009-2010, and in 2010 – 2015 he was head of the Implementation and Supervision Department of the General Directorate of Public Transport and Communications of the Chisinau Municipal Council, again.
Mihai Lari was elected mayor of Singera town, Chisinau municipality, on behalf of the Liberal Party (PL), following local elections in summer 2015.
