Moldovan parliament's leadership gives distinctions on Independence Day

Chisinau, 27 August /MOLDPRES/- Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today awarded for the first time distinctions of the Moldovan parliament on Independence Day.
The speaker decorated with “Medal of Democracy” personalities with remarkable results in various fields of activity. Also, diplomas of honor and diplomas of levels I, II and III were offered.
“I am proud of Moldovans. During the two decades, we have managed to resist due to optimism and have chosen the European integration path that we will follow together. We are working for a better life and we are sure Moldova will change. Today we reward those who have managed to create new performance models. You are bringing change and you are the Republic of Moldova – artists with reputation, officials, doctors, policemen and businessmen”, he said.
“Democracy Medal” was awarded for contribution to promoting reforms, defending citizens’ constitutional rights and freedoms, promoting the parliamentarianism traditions, for outstanding merits in the professional field of activity, as well as for dedication in special missions to ensure security of the country. Among people who received this medal are – composer Eugen Doga, Major Ghenadie Bulgac and first speaker Alexandru Mosanu.
At the event, several personalities were awarded the Diploma of Honor, which was given for promoting interests and image of Moldova, national traditions and values both in the country and abroad, for building and using cultural heritage of the country, outstanding achievements in didactic and research work, consolidation of bilateral diplomatic relations and collaboration with the national parliaments of other states. General Ion Solonenco is among the personalities who got this diploma.
At the same time, “Diploma of Moldovan parliament” has been granted for a significant contribution to the development of science, art, culture and sport, for active participation in elaboration of state policies, for irreproachable activity within the central public administration authorities, civic initiative and philanthropic actions, remarkable success in studying and awarding prizes at international competitions. Among the personalities who received this diploma are – Major Vitalie Creciun, colonels Sergiu Golovaci, Sergiu Guțu, Eduard Bumbac, deputy head of Migration and Asylum Bureau Adrian Cretu and Lieutenant Colonel Liliana Puscasu.
Parliament awards have been established for the first time this year.
