Moldovan government introduces new measures to increase quality of medical services

Chisinau, 7 November /MOLDPRES/ – Medical devices within medical institutions will be subject to regular checks. Related to it, the Government approved the Regulation establishing the nomenclature of the types of devices and the mechanism for their verification today, in line with international standards, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The implementing the provisions of the document will enhance the quality of medical services provided and patient safety. According to the Regulation, the accredited structures will have to check medical devices every two years and issue a regular checklist. This bulletin will include the results of the examinations and conclusions regarding the use of medical devices.
The medical devices to be tested include: anesthesia devices, artificial respiration, infant incubators, electrocardiographs, ultrasounds, patient monitors, infusion pumps and others.
The first device verification will be performed from expiration date of the warranty period or by the request of the user. The non – compliant medical devices will be repaired and then submitted for re – testing.
