Working group sets next actions to implement Chisinau Arena project

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - A working group for the implementation of the project on building a multipurpose arena, which held a meeting today, set the next actions due to be undertaken to carry out a roadmap of the Chisinau Arena project.   

“The actions planned for the second stage of the roadmap deal with the preparation of the normative basis for the public-private partnership, which will include the project’s conditions and requirements, as well as the elaboration of the scheme for the ground’s placement. All actions on the public-private partnership will be made public and subjected to consultations,” Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici said at the meeting.   

The minister informed that the government had approved a decision on the nomination  of the works for designing and construction of the multipurpose arena as works of national interest, subjected to public-private partnership, and started the process of working out a feasibility study and the parliament voted the amendments to the legislation on the change of the ground’s purpose. 

The working group considered including ways of holding the tender for the selection of the private partner. “It is necessary to identify a company able to construct this strategic object for Moldova, according to the requirements and conditions of eligibility of the public-private project on the designing and construction of the multipurpose arena,” Chiril Gaburici added.   

The Chisinau Arena will have a capacity of about 3,000-5,000 places, 800-1,200 parking places and will be able to host concerts, conferences, exhibitions, sports events, as well as trainings.
