Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) today summoned Russia’s Ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin, whom it informed about a Verbal Note, through which, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961), three diplomats of the mission are declared persona non-grata and are obliged to leave Moldova in a seven-day term.
According to MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, the Moldovan authorities’ decision comes as solidarity with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as a result of the conclusions by the European Council from 23-24 March 2018, which describe the Salisbury attack as a threat against the collective security and international law.
