Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, convened a meeting with authorities with attributions in the field of compliance with the fire protection norms today. Pavel Filip called for ample checks in mixed teams of all the social, cultural and recreational objectives in Moldova, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
"The cause of many tragedies is negligence. Although clear rules are in place, it is important how they are respected, how responsible those ones are who manage these goals," said PM.
Thus, within upcoming days, it will be established a list of targets where there will be a high flow of people and mixed teams to begin the controls of the observance of the fire protection rules, including provision of access routes for ambulances and firefighters, if needed. At the same time, there will be organised simulations of fire situations. All economic agents will be given warnings about fire safety rules.
In this context, representatives of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) mentioned that the rotation of employees carrying out the checks would be done, in order to ensure that the picture is as clear as possible. According to Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, this exercise will also result in identification of inspectors who issued certificates in the absence of compliance with the requirements set by legislation. "We also run into corruption sometimes, because not all inspectors are aware of their responsibility, but it is about people's lives," said Pavel Filip.
The Prime Minister also asked, based on the results of controls, to revise the framework for the enforcement of sanctions in the field.
