Moldovan authorities to provide needed support to carry out agricultural works in good conditions

Chisinau, 28 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, in the beginning of a today cabinet meeting, said that several quite important weeks followed for the agricultural sector. He noted that the authorities would provide the needed support for the carrying out of the agricultural works in as good conditions as possible, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
“In 2017, we had a record harvest of wheat. We want this performance of agriculture repeat in 2018 as well; we are prepared to provided every necessary support,” Pavel Filip said.
The PM also said that, in the last years, decision-makers had made proper order in the process of providing subsidies and they would aim to efficiently use also the subsidies of 900 million lei, provided for this year.
At the same time, measures will be undertaken to remove speculations with prices for fuels. “The import of fuels and other inputs needed by the agriculture should take place with no problems. We must be quite cautious now and I ask all authorities, including the Customs Service, as well as the local authorities and mayors to get involved, so that the agricultural works could be carried out in the best conditions,” the prime minister added.
