Modern train to be put into service on Chisinau-Odessa route

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/- A modern train will be put into service on the Chisinau-Odessa route tomorrow. The decision was taken following negotiations between the Moldovan and Ukrainian rail administrations, with the participation of EUBAM.
Following talks, the officials have ordered to replace the old gasket running on the above-mentioned route with a modernized D1M train, which reduces travel time by 26 minutes for the tour and respectively, 39 minutes to return.
At the same time, on this occasion, on the first day travelers will be able to benefit from discounts on the cost of tickets. Thus, tomorrow people will be able to reach Odessa by paying only 102 lei for a class III ticket, 110 lei – second class and 118 lei – first class of comfort, which is by 33 per cent less than in ordinary days.
The train on the Chisinau-Odessa route will run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, starting at 06:57 from Chisinau train station. The ticket price varies depending on the class, from 151 to 167 lei.
The customs control for passengers of the respective route is carried out in the Chisinau railway station, and the procedure is not repeated at the border. This allowed reducing travel time by about 40 minutes to Odessa and 50 minutes to return.
