Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ – Gas Natural Fenosa Group in Moldova submitted to National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) requests for adjustment of tariffs for distribution service and regulated prices for electricity supply. According to the project, the tariffs for households are to be reduced by 5.5 per cent, from 199 bani per kilowatt/hour to 187.99 bani.
The electricity supplier requires to reduce tariff for consumers connected to medium voltage networks by 6.1 per cent and for consumers connected to high voltage networks by 6.0 per cent.
According to Group’s press release, new tariffs will be applied from 01 April, when it will come into force new power purchase contract.
There were taken into account more factors at basis of calculations, namely "the electricity purchase price stipulated in contracts in force for 2018, tariff for transport services in force, basic costs related to activity of distribution and supply of electricity, volume of distributed and supplied energy, energy losses in distribution networks registered in 2017, macroeconomic indicators by updated Prognosis developed by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI)".
"If ANRE applies regulated prices and tariffs other than those mentioned in above assumptions, then regulated supply prices will have to be recalculated properly," quotes group Gas Union Fenosa Moldova.
The energy company Energocom, from which Gas Union Fenosa Group purchases energy, signed in the middle of March with Moldovan Electric Power Plant (Cuciurgan Power Station) and DTEK Pavlogradugoli in Ukraine new electricity supply contracts to Moldova for 01 April 2018 – 31 March 2019. The average purchase price is about 5.24 cents/kWh.
Although purchase price offered by two suppliers is higher than in previous contract, tariffs paid by citizens for consumed electricity will not increase, insured the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI).
The last adjustment of electricity tariffs provided to consumers by Gas Natural Fenosa Energy Supply to consumers was made in the middle of March 2017 when tariff for population was increased by 3.6 per cent, for consumers connected to medium voltage networks by 5.8 per cent and at high voltage by 9.2 per cent.
