“The exhibition represents a platform for business communication, where actors of the tourism market announce the newest and most important offers before the summer period: programmes, prices and destinations. At the same time, here we can also make summing-ups. Or, we are happy to inform that the tourism sector of Moldova becomes stronger and more and more attractive. O proof is also the increase of the number of tourists in our country by about 20 per cent last year, against 2016,” Director General of the Tourism Agency of Moldova Stanislav Rusu said at the inauguration ceremony.

According to the official, Moldova “is no longer a tourist enigma” and much work has been carried out for this. “Routes have been diversified, including air ones, events were organized, which are of real interest for Moldova’s tourists and visitors and, at the same time, they bring profit and are economically attractive for the country. We do not have sea, we have no mountains, instead, we have an outstanding cuisine and a good wine; we have hospitable people with a good soul, as well as a lot of authentic tourist destinations which are worth being discovered,” Stanislav Rusu said.

Attending the event, Romanian Minister of Tourism Bogdan Gheorghe Trif appreciated the cooperation between the competent institutions from the two countries. “Moldova is one of the priority markets for the Ministry of Tourism of Romania. Moldovan citizens are on the first ten positions in terms of country’s visitors and a 13-per cent increase in the number of tourists from Moldova coming to Romania was recorded in 2017,” the minister noted.

Also today, diplomas and prizes were handed for “contribution to the development of tourism in Moldova.”
