Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - Patrol inspectors will no longer be able to take away the matriculation plates from irregularly parked vehicles. The parliament adopted a draft law to this end in the final reading with the votes of 57 MPs.
According to the authors, the practice of drawing out the matriculation plates is inefficient and does not provide solutions to combat the phenomenon of irregular parking; on the contrary, it creates difficulties both for drivers and policemen.
Under the article 238 of the Contravention Code, the driver is sanctioned with fine worth up to 500 lei, by applying two penalty points, for standing or parking in banned places.
