Block of stocks of Moldovan bank sold at about 86 million lei at Securities Exchange

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - A 17.9-per cent block of stocks of ProCreditBank today was sold at the Securities Exchange of Moldova at a price of 85.7 million lei. The buyers paid 1,177.15 lei for each share with nominal value of 1,000 lei.
The Commercial Bank ProCreditBank, which received licence to carry out financial activities on 17 December 2007, is a bank with entirely foreign capital from Germany and the Netherlands. The controlling stake, respectively 82.09 per cent of the stocks, is owned by ProCredit Holding.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has recently subscribed 40 per cent of the new stocks issued by ProCredit Holding from Germany, which owns subsidiaries in more states of Eastern Europe, including Moldova. “We are happy to participate in this first increase of capital through capital markets, in order to further back the growth of the Group and to improve the access of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to the responsible financing in the countries where we have operations. ProCredit Holding continues to be among the key banks of EBRD in the field of crediting SMEs,” EBRD Director for Western Balkans, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine Henry Russel said after the transaction had been completed.
