Moldovan parliament makes qualitative leap in implementing EU-Moldova Association Agreement

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament has fulfilled the conditions for the macro-financial assistance stipulated in the memorandum of understanding between EU and Moldova. Statements to this effect were made at a today’s meeting of the Parliamentary Council for European Integration, chaired by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu.
”The structure and personal establishments for the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) was approved today; the control commission for public finances and regulations which regard the Court of Accounts will be stipulated in the parliament’s regulation, according to the draft recorded in parliament. These provisions will be subsequently contained also in the new regulation of the parliament,” Andrian Candu said. He asked the cabinet for a list of drafts with clear-cut terms, which are to be adopted in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreement with EU till next July.
The progress report on the Moldovan parliament’s activities in the European integration process, worked out with the support of experts of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), shows a qualitative leap in the implementation of the Association Agreement by the parliament. “It is important that we continue in the same pace,” the parliament speaker says.
The chairwoman of the commission for foreign policy and European integration, Violeta Ivanov, unveiled the actions carried out by the parliament in the European integration sector.
Finance Minister Octavian Armasu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova Sergiu Cioclea, Economics and Infrastructure Minister Chiril Gaburici, as well as the representative of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry presented reports on the dimensions managed.
A delegation of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Budgets, as well as of the Moldova – EU Parliamentary Association Committee will come to Moldova next week.
