Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - Director of the Municipal Clinical Hospital No 1 Iurie Dondiuc has been dismissed from office. The acting mayor of Chisinau, Silvia Radu, signed an instruction to this effect today.
According to the acting mayor, the decision was taken because of the “weak control over the activities of the hospital’s subdivisions.”
“Numerous complaints have been received on behalf of patients and inactions were recorded to remove the deficiencies from the hospital. When I was at a control, I found the director at a banquet in the middle of the working day. But it is not only this; I saw how the hospital was managed. The complaints received from citizens very well describe the system imposed in the last years by Moldovanu, Dondiuc and others, which did everything for the system to work exclusively to their advantage and not at all to the advantage of patients,” the acting mayor wrote on a social network.
The acting mayor on 29 March also dismissed the head of the health department of the Chisinau municipality, Mihai Moldovanu. Silvia Radu said that the decision had been taken because of the “weak control over the work of the medical institutions.”
In early 2018, the leadership of the Chisinau city hall informed that it had initiated a contest for more offices of head at a string of departments. Earlier, the acting mayor said that she was set to reform more structures of the city hall and dismiss the heads of the municipal enterprises which would not cope with the requirements.
