Pensions set in 2012 – 2013 to be valued from 01 April 2018 in Moldova

Chisinau, 01 April /MOLDPRES/ – The valorisation of elderly – age and disability pensions set in 2012 – 2013 will be valued from 01 April, two years prior than initially expected. Starting 02 April, pensioners in respective categories will raise higher pensions, according to a governmental decision, approved in December 2017.

The Government decision provides that pensions set between 2012 and 31 March 2017 will be recalculated in 2018, but not from 01 April 2019 and 01 April 2020 respectively, as previously scheduled.

As such, from 01 April 2018, it will be implemented next stage of valorisation of two types of pensions established in 2012 – 2013 and from 01 October 2018 for those established between 2014 and 31 March 2017. In 2019, it will be made anticipated pensions valorisation of 130,746 elderly – age pension beneficiaries, meaning an average increase over MDL 300 per month. The increase will exceed MDL 280 per month, for 21,264 beneficiaries of disability pensions, according to info of the Ministry of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection (MSMPS).

The authorities explain that early recalculation of pensions was possible due to increase in budget revenues.
