Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/- Policemen in the capital will work in multiple shifts to ensure public order at the 123 holy places on Easter night. Deputy head of the Chisinau Police Department Silviu Musuc made the statement today during the session of the city hall’s operative services.

According to Musuc, police teams will operate at the 80 churches in Chisinau and in the suburbs. “Also, the law enforcers will work in many shifts on Memorial Easter, in order to ensure the safety of each participant in cemeteries”, Musuc said.

The press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, Liliana Puscasu, said that this week, firefighters will check compliance with anti-fire rules in all over 1,700 religious buildings in the country. “The aim is to prevent fires in holy places around Easter. During the checks, the specialists control the automatic signaling and fire alarm systems, the evacuation routes, the installation of electrical networks, the primary means of fire intervention, as well as the places for burning candles,” Puscasu said.

Firefighters also warn about the danger of blocking access roads around the churches.

This year, Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter on 8 April.
