European Parliament's delegation to assess level of implementation of Association Agreement with EU in Chisinau

Chisinau, 02 April /MOLDPRES/ – The Members of European Parliament (MEPs) from Foreign Affairs Committee and Budget Committee will visit the Republic of Moldova to assess level of implementation of Association Agreement with EU and monitor effectiveness of the use of EU financial support.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, delegation of Foreign Affairs Committee is headed by Laima Liucija Andrikienė and Committee on Budgets by Siegfried Muresan.
The agenda includes meetings with Speaker of Parliament, Andrian Candu, heads of standing committees and parliamentary factions. The chiefs of delegations of Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Budgets will hold a press conference in Parliament.
According to programme, delegation of European Parliament will also discuss with Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, members of Government, representatives of CNA, CEC, BNM, representatives of international financial organisations, civil society and extra – parliamentary parties.
The issues discussed during the meetings will focus on progress of reforms, patterns on rule of law, good governance, justice and mass media, as well as evaluation of anti – corruption actions.
The MEPs from Foreign Affairs Committee and Committee on Budgets will also pay a visit to Hincesti district, where they will discuss with representatives of local authorities, political parties and civil society.
Subsequently, European Parliament’s delegation will visit Ukraine to assess implementation of Ukraine – EU Association Agreement.
The MEPs will report to Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Budgets on results of missions in Moldova and Ukraine. The visit of European Parliament’s delegation to Moldova takes place on 02 – 06 April 2018.
