Obituary in memory of Moldovan academician

We are sorrowed by the news on the passing away of an illustrious world famous scientist, academician, university professor, PhD in physical and mathematical sciences Vsevolod Moscalenco.  

Academician Vsevolod Moscalenco made himself conspicuous by significant theoretical elaborations in the sector of condensed matter physics. He played a special role also in the formation and maintenance of the prestige of the native science through boosting the cooperation relations between scientists from Moldova and the Dubna Institute for Nuclear Research; for this contribution, he was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of this prestigious research institution.     

The academician was awarded the highest state distinctions and national honorific titles: Knight of the Order of the Republic, Merited Man, Laureate of the State Prize, Dimitrie Cantemir Medal of the Moldovan Academy of Sciences (ASM), for his pioneering achievements and promotion of our country’s image on the international stage.   

We express respect for the famous personality of academician Vsevolod Moscalenco, who dedicated his life to the development of the scientific knowledge for the benefit of Moldova’s society.   

In these moments of big sorrow, we convey condolences and sympathy to the grieving family and the close relatives.
