Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/- Number of customs officers and checking equipment will be supplemented during Easter holidays to streamline cross-border traffic.
According to the Customs Service, all roads will be controlled in order to cope with the flow of passengers, which shows a significant increase during this period.
At the same time, an intervention group was set up within each customs post, members of which, if needed, are called back to work and involved in customs control.
Anti-fraud officers will also work intensively. They will be present in post 24/7 to collect facts about frauds reported by inspectors from the control line.
Another measure of traffic flow set by the Customs Service refers to the application of the Two Corridors system to four of the most demanded customs posts: Sculeni, Leușeni, Giurgiulești and Tudora. Therefore, citizens who do not have goods that need to be reported can opt for Green Corridor, while the Red Corridor is for people transporting goods requiring customs clearance.
All listed measures were also proposed to counterparts in Ukraine and Romania, so that customs clearance procedures are accelerated on both sides of the border.
However, to avoid a possible extension of waiting time to customs, caused by overuse of crossings, the Customs Service recommends citizens to opt for all existing customs posts. Information on border customs posts can be found by accessing the interactive crossing point map, available on the Customs Service website.
Also, cross-border traffic participants can plan the best route visiting TRAFFIC ONLINE, where they can view in real time the number of transport units that are in the transit crossings.
