Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - The decision on the change of the structure and limit staff of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) will be published in the 6 April issue of the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
The new legislative amendments were triggered by the adoption of the law on the prevention and combating of money laundering and financing terrorism. Following the amendment of the legislation, the Service for Prevention and Combating Money Laundering, which has been earlier subordinated to CNA, will become an independent institution.
At the same time, the staff of the Criminal Assets Recovery Agency, which has a status of CNA’s department, will be completed. The Agency was given extended competences and powers in lawsuits on the recovery of criminal assets.
Thus, CNA will be led by a director and two deputy directors and will comprise 18 subdivisions with 342 staff units, against 350 it has had so far.
